Paul moved back to Connecticut in 2014 after serving 16 years active duty in the U.S. Air Force. During his time in the Air Force Paul was a Security Force member and went on several overseas deployments. In 2020 Paul graduated from Sacred Heart University with a bachelor’s in social work; and is set to graduate with his master’s degree in Social Work from Quinnipiac University in 2021. Coach Mastrony played youth hockey growing up and has a son, Nate, who currently plays Junior A hockey here in Connecticut.
Coaching Experience:
Coach Mastrony started coaching youth hockey in Minot, North Dakota. He started in the Minot Wolves youth hockey program, coaching both Mite and Squirt A travel teams. He then went on to coach the Bakken Oilers AAA tier 1 02’ team in which he posted a 16-4 record with a championship in the Mountain Dew Blast Tournament in St. Cloud, MN and runner up in the Summer Round-Up tournament in Alexandria MN. After just one season with the Oilers, he moved back to CT and was hired by the Wonderland Wizards. He has coached multiple levels of 14U and 15U teams. Coach Mastrony believes in teaching the kids to have high work ethic and his goal is to prepare each player for the next level.
